Windows & Doors Before & After in Woodland Hills, CA
Walking a Woodland Hills home and seeing daylight through a rotted sill, fogged glass, or a door that grinds against its frame tells you the whole story in about five seconds. We could write a thousand words about our installation standards, but a photo of a 1970s aluminum slider replaced with a clean, square PGT vinyl unit makes the point faster. Every project below follows the same path: a written price before anything starts, a live arrival time under The Relay Standard, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing at the end. Here’s what that looks like on actual Woodland Hills homes.
Recent Transformations
Slider to French Door Replacement, Walnut Acres
Before
AfterThe old 72-inch aluminum slider had lost its thermal seal years ago, and the track was so worn the door needed a hard shove to move at all. We pulled the entire frame rather than capping it, because the rough opening had settled out of square by nearly an inch in one corner. A new Therma-Tru fiberglass door went in with a full sill pan and fresh flashing, and the swing now opens with two fingers. The owners got the matching sidelites they’d wanted since they bought the place, and afternoon heat no longer bleeds into the dining room.
Fogged Dual-Pane Window Replacement, Woodland Hills
Before
AfterCondensation between the panes isn’t just cosmetic: it means the desiccant inside the spacer has failed and the insulating gas is gone. In this hillside home near Ventura Boulevard, four front-facing windows had gone hazy enough that the view of the Santa Monicas looked like a smudged camera lens. We measured each opening to the eighth of an inch and installed CWS dual-pane units with a low-E coating, which is a microscopically thin metallic layer that reflects heat while staying clear. The glass is now clean enough that the owner keeps double-checking whether the windows are open.
Rotted Wood Window Sash Rebuild, South of the Boulevard
Before
AfterSouth of the Boulevard has some gorgeous mid-century homes, and their original wood windows are usually worth saving when the rot is local. This one had soft wood along the bottom rail and a sill that crumbled when we probed it, but the frames were still solid. We routed out the bad material, treated what remained, and ordered ES Windows replacement sashes built to the original sightlines. The new sashes seat flush with new compression weatherstrip, which is exactly what it sounds like: a rubber strip that squashes into a tight seal when the window closes. The house keeps its original look, and the draft is gone.
Single-Hung to Impact-Rated Window Upgrade, Santa Monica Mountains Foothills

Homes up against the foothills get real wind, and a brush fire can turn a calm afternoon into an ember shower fast. This job replaced thin single-pane windows with PGT impact-rated units, which are built to resist wind-borne debris without shattering. The glass is laminated with a polymer interlayer, similar to a car windshield, and the frames use reinforced meeting rails. Beyond the protection, the owners noticed the house is quieter: the double-lane hum from Topanga Canyon dropped to a low murmur. They got the same window count as before, but the rooms feel larger because the new frames are slimmer than the old wood ones.
Sticking Patio Door Replacement, Warner Center Adjacent

A patio door that needs a running start is a patio door with a bent or gunk-filled track, and most box-store repairs only mask it for a season. This Warner Center-adjacent condo had a slider that hadn’t opened fully in the better part of a decade. We pulled the panel, found the rollers had disintegrated, and the previous owner’s caulk job had actually trapped water against the track. A new CGI sliding door went in with stainless rollers and a fresh threshold with a proper drip edge. It glides like it’s on bearings, because it is, and the tile no longer gets wet when storms blow in from the west.
Full Window Package on a Pool Home, Calabasas Border

Pool homes eat windows: chlorine vapor, constant sun, and wet towels on the sill all take a toll. This house near the Calabasas border had a mix of three window types installed at three different times, none matching, several with failed seals facing the pool. We replaced all nineteen openings with ECO Window Systems units in one continuous run, which took two days. The frames are extruded vinyl, meaning the color runs all the way through rather than sitting as a painted layer, so scratches from pool equipment won’t show white. The home finally reads as one house instead of three additions, and the energy bill dropped enough that the owner mentioned it unsolicited six months later.
